Installing Your Trading Robot on a VPS (VPS New York Time)

Step 1: Check your email

You will receive an email containing the EX4 file for your trading robot.

Download this file to your computer.

Step 2: Access your VPS

Connect to your Windows VPS (Set your VPS to New York time).

Use the Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) on Windows to connect to your VPS.

Step 3: Transfer the File to the VPS

Once connected to your VPS, open your web browser and access your email inbox.

Download the EX4 file of the robot directly onto the desktop or a convenient folder on your VPS.

Step 4: Launch MT4

Open the MetaTrader 4 (MT4) software on your VPS. If you haven’t installed it yet, you can download and install it from your broker’s website.

Step 5: Open the MT4 Data Folder

Once MT4 is open, look at the top left of the screen.

Click on "File" in the upper menu.

In the drop-down menu, click on "Open Data Folder". This will open the file explorer in the MT4 directory.

Step 6: Navigate to the "Downloads" Folder

In the file explorer that opened, find and click on the "Downloads" folder where you saved the EX4 file.

Copy the EX4 file by right-clicking on it and selecting "Copy".

Step 7: Go Back to the Main MT4 Folder

Click on the "Back" arrow to return to the main MT4 folder.

Next, open the "MQL4" folder.

In the "MQL4" folder, find and open the "Experts" folder.

Paste the EX4 file here by right-clicking and selecting "Paste".

Step 8: Close and Restart MT4

To ensure the robot is loaded correctly, close MT4 and reopen it.

Step 9: Access the Robot in MT4

Once MT4 is reopened, go to the "Navigator" tab (usually located on the left).

Under "Expert Advisors", you should now see the EX4 file of your robot.

Drag and drop the robot onto the chart of your choice to start trading.

Set the VPS Time Zone (UTC -5:00)

Open Date and Time Settings:

On your VPS desktop, click on the clock in the bottom right corner.

Select Change date and time settings.

Set the Time Zone:

In the Date and Time window, click on Change time zone.

From the list of time zones, select (UTC -5:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada).

Click OK to apply the change.
